District Deputy Grand Master - R.W. Bro. Kevin G. Morgan (continued)

My Brethren,

I would like to convey my sincere thanks to the Brethren of Victoria District for electing me to serve as your District Deputy Grand Master.  It is an honour and privilege to represent the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario, M.W. Bro. John C. Green.  I look forward with anticipation to a productive and rewarding year for the District, each Lodge, and every individual Brother.  With continued fellowship and friendship that is so vibrant within the District, I am certain we can work together towards an enjoyable year.

I am honoured to follow in the footsteps of many talented and esteemed Brethren who have served our District in this office. My hope is to continue to build on the foundation they have laid to the best of my abilities.  I would also like to take this opportunity to give my predecessor, R.W. Brother Richard W. Wackernagel a vote of thanks and my gratitude for the excellent condition in which he left the affairs of the District.

We are fortunate to have many committed Brethren who have offered their time and talent to serve as District Chairmen and Officers.  I thank them for their efforts in this venture and encourage all Brethren to take advantage of the skills and assistance these Chairmen can provide.  Our District Secretary, has committed himself to a very busy year and I have no doubt he will perform his duties faithfully and zealously.  I will be eternally grateful to my Brother, Friend and Neighbour, W. Bro. Jason R. Rawlins.

We sincerely congratulate V.W. Bro. Stephen O. Kyle and V.W. Bro. Gordon Zimmerman on their appointments as Grand Stewards this year.  This is a very well deserved honour for both of them, and I look forward to seeing them throughout the year on our travels.

Victoria District is steeped in tradition and history.  This is particularly noted as we prepare to celebrate our Centennial Year in 2016.   It is important for us to preserve our traditions while at the same time encouraging new approaches where need be.  Let us first strive to keep doing the things we do well while recognizing those that need to be improved and strengthened.

On the topic of tradition, I would be remiss if I did not make mention of some special Brethren in my Masonic journey.  To my sponsors into Masonry, my late Grandfather V.W. Bro. Harry Morgan and V.W. Bro. Ron McMillan, I owe a debt of gratitude. To my father, R.W. Bro. Gary Morgan, you have been an inspiration for as long as I can remember.  These 3 Brethren have been a huge influence in not only my Masonic journey, but life in general.

Lastly, I must thank my wife Kathy, daughters Kendal and Georgia, and stepsons Mitchell and Tyler.  Without their unconditional love and support I would not be able to take on this role.

In closing Brethren, let me once again thank you for the opportunity of serving this Grand Lodge as District Deputy Grand Master of Victoria District.  I wish you all the best, and may the G.A.O.T.U. be with you.

Sincerely and Fraternally,
R.W. Bro. Kevin G. Morgan
District Deputy Grand Master Victoria District
