Jack Dempsey (William Harrison) (1895–1983) US Heavyweight Boxing Champion.
Nicknamed ‘the Manassa Mauler’. He beat Jess Willard at Toledo Ohio on July 4th.1919 to win the title and held it until 1926, when he lost it to Gene Tunney on September 23rd. 1926. He engaged in the ‘Battle of the Long Count’ with Tunney 1927.
Brother Jack was a member of Kenwood Lodge No.800 Chicago Illinois. at the age of sixty-seven he became a "Shriner" when he joined Medinah Shrine Temple, Chacago in 1962.
