James Knox Polk (1795 - 1849)
Eleventh President of U.S.A.

James Knox Polk was one of the more successful presidents. During his single presidential term he acquired large amounts of territory, faced down Great Britain, reduced the tariff, and established a new, independent treasury. Worn out from his efforts, Polk died less than a year after leaving the White House.
Brother James was a member of Lodge Columbia No. 21 Tennessee And rose to the rank of Junior Warden.
