Visit to Lessing at the Blazing Star Lodge, Orient Munich

On 3 and 4 February, 2012, a four-member delegation of the United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria, consisting of: the Grand Master, MW Bro. Ivan Sariev, the Deputy Grand Master, the Master and the Deputy Master of Knyaz Alexander I Battenberg Lodge visited Lessing at the Blazing Star Lodge (Lessing zum Flammenden Stern), Orient Munich, Germany, a Constituent Lodge under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of the Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of Germany – a historically significant landmark of contemporary Bulgarian Masonry.

In his address the Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria, MW Bro. Ivan Sariev give a well deserved tribute to the German Brethren from Lessing at blazing star Lodge for their significant contribution to the reactivation of the contemporary Bulgarian Freemasonry and emphasised the importance for the future good and stable relationship between the two Grand Lodges.

The German Brethren welcomed with great satisfaction the proposal of MW Bro. Ivan Sariev a future Lodge-member of the United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria to bear the name of Bro. Ivan Voynov. At the fraternal agape, which followed, the eldest Brother from Lessing at the Blazing Star Lodge said:

"We’ve had many different visitors, most of whom were representatives, significant to the world Masonry, but the visit of Bulgaria touched us right in our hearts and we will always remember it.” On the next day, February 4, the Bulgarian delegation paid due tribute to the tomb of Bro. Ivan Voynov and had a walk around the centre of cosmopolitan Munich, despite the cold February weather.
