It is designed in the form of a Khorugv, (Old Bulgarian “хорѫгы”) derived from the Greek word χoron meaning majesty, militancy, strength or dignity. The basic colour of the Banner is light blue - the colour of Blue Freemasonry (St. John's Freemasonry in the three symbolic degrees). The Coat of Arms of the United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria is situated in the centre. Below it is the name "United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria". On either side of the Banner are two dark blue edgings, symbolizing the two pillars of King Solomon's Temple. The Mosaic pavement is depicted below them – symbolising Light and Darkness, Good and Evil – signifying the beginning of the world. It is also a symbol of the cycle of success and failure, joy and sorrow; the eternal polarity that accompanies our striving for perfection. Finally, the Banner of the United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria is adorned by the Bulgarian National Flag. |
