The Grand Council of Knight Masons is a Sovereign Masonic Order with control of the ancient Irish degrees known as the Red Cross or Babylonian Degrees.   These ancient Irish Degrees of Knight Masonry are of high esoteric and symbolic value and the building of the second Temple forms the theme.

Persia Council, No. 8, was dedicated in 2008 as our Research body for further discovery of our history and is based at Freemasons' Hall, Dublin, Ireland. Papers and or submissions are always welcome and will receive respectful scholarly examination by this research body.

The Grand Council of Knight Masons' Councils now number 107 and are located in Ireland and in Ohio, U.S.A.; South Africa; Hong Kong; Jamaica; Tasmania; India; Gibraltar; Australia; New Zealand; Bermuda, Greece and England.

Craft Masons, advanced as Mark Master Masons and Royal Arch Masons, are eligible and welcome to become Knight Masons, thus attaining the rank and dignity of the complete series of degrees within Irish Universal Masonry.
