So what has this got to do with Scottish Freemasonry I hear you ask? Well one of the buildings is Greenlaw Town Hall. The foundation stone was laid in a Masonic ceremony in 1829 and a Lodge met there during the 19th century. The building is now in a bad state and is in desperate need of renovation. The room where the Lodge used to meet has numerous Masonic images but they too are in a poor state and need to be renovated.

Each programme of the series is devoted to describing a particular building. Viewers then vote for the building they most wish to have restored. The winning building will receive funding to have it restored to its former glory. The programme featuring Greenlaw Town Hall is due to be broadcast on BBC 2 18th August at 21.00. Please tune in to the programme and vote to have this rare piece of Masonic history repaired. You can vote immediately after the programme ends until the following Tuesday. Phone number to vote for Greenlaw Town Hall: 09013 600 500. Calls from a normal landline cost £1 per call. Some of the money 'donated' in this way will go to the restoration fund regardless of the outcome of the series - so it is a telephone call worth making! Please note that calls from mobile phones will be charged at a different rate - probably more than £1.
