The Installation of the Grand Master Mason takes place on the Thursday preceeding St. Andrew's Day (30th November) and on 30th November when that is a Thursday as it was this year. The origin of why the Grand Lodge of Scotland came to have St. Andrew as its Patron Saint and therefore hold its principal celebration on or around 30th November (the Feast Day of Saint Andrew) is a most interesting one especially as the Patron Saint of Freemasonry is usually claimed to be Saint John the Baptist (although that is not true of Scotland - well it is Scotland!) It is hoped that a page on this particular subject will be created in due time. Below are a few images taken at the Installation and at the Festival of Saint Andrew.
