Brethren of Lodge Edinburgh St. Andrew, No.48 recently donated £1000 to the Professor Anne Ferguson Memorial Fund at the Gastrointestinal Unit of the University of Edinburgh based at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.

Professor Jack Satsangi, in thanking the Lodge members, stated that: 'the donation would be used exclusively for research into the causes of inflamatory bowel disease'.

Contributions such as these often go unnoticed and unreported and this is one local example of putting into practice one of the tenents of Freemasonry.
