Under the Scottish Constitution the Grand Master Mason (GMM) usually serves five years although he must still go through the annual process of Nomination, Election and Installation so the first occasion a new GMM is Installed is rather special and is always attended by large numbers of Brethren from all over the world.

The Installation ceremony (held in Freemasons' Hall, 96 George Street, Edinburgh) is followed by the Festival of Saint Andrew. This is a Harmony on a large scale and is held in Sheraton Hotel it being one of the very few places in Edinburgh that can accomodate 500+ people dining together.

The Grand Lodge of Scotland has issued a Press Release announcing the Installation of Brother Charles Iain Robert Wolrige Gordon of Esselmont. This can be downloaded (a .pdf file) by clicking here or on the previous links.
