The state of the British pound seems to have given a boost to the conference with bookings being received from USA and Europe where the pound is at an all time low.

The success of the first International Conference on the History of Freemasonry seems to have ensured its future. It was decided to hold the second conference in Scotland bacause 2009 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Scotland's National Bard - Brother Robert Burns (1759 - 1796).

The Call for Papers issued earlier this year asked for some papers to focus on Burns and the influence of Freemasonry on his life and career. We are please to report that several original papers have been received on the subject together with a host of others relating in some way to Freemasonry.
