The seminar, The History and Heritage of the Scottish Craft, revealed that there was widespread concern that many Lodge records were in a poor condition and some were in danger or being lost forever. To read a report of the seminar click here or on the previous link.

It was subsequently agreed that a group (known as the Scottish Masonic Materials Group - SMMG) be created to further investigate the extent of this problem. The first task was to obtain information about Scottish Masonic Records. In order to do this an online survey was created (see: www.grand-lodge.net) for Lodges to enter the relevent details. All Daughter Lodges are requested to particpate. Copies of the documents can be downloaded by clicking here.

Another seminar will be held on Saturday, 24th April 2010, in the McCance Lecture Theatre, Glasgow, to discuss the survey finding to date and to provide recommendations as to further action. The event is kindly being hosted by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Glasgow whose assistance is gratefully acknowledged.

Tickets cost £4 each and can be obtained via you Lodge Secretary or directly from SMMG:
