As some of you may know the Chairman of the Academic Committee, Professor Andrew Prescott, had a bad fall in May which shattered his lower right leg and has therefore been incapacitated for three months. Everyone will be pleased to know that he is now on the mend, although still on crutches. However, this meant that he was unable to devote any time to matters relating to ICHF. Because of this, and the numerous requests from researchers, the deadline for proposals for papers for ICHF 2013 has been extended until the end of August.

It would be most helpful if proposals could be submitted before the new deadline so that the Academic Committee and begin work as early as possible.
