The 4th International Conference on the History of Freemasonry will be held in Freemasons' Hall, Edinburgh, 24 - 26 May 2013. This is a Bi-annual conference and the two year 'gap' allows all those interested in contributing, attending or socializing to organize their travel and accommodation. That said, this ICHF has experienced a delay in producing the final program and was due mainly to the terrible accident experienced by the Chairman of the Academic Committee, Professor Andrew Prescott who was confined to months for several months just as proposals for papers began to be received. Thankfully, Prof. Prescott recovered sufficiently to allow the Academic Committee to consider proposals for papers for presentation at ICHF 2013 albeit much later than for previous conference. It should be a matter of record that without the perseverance of Prof. Prescott, despite his extremely serious injury ICHF 2013 might have been much more complex to organize.

There is no doubt that this International Conference has become an established event in Academic and Masonic calenders. The success of ICHF in Virginia, USA, in 2011 ensured its International credentials. This is reinforced by the fact that ICHF 2015 will be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
