Poet Laureate Print
Brother Robert Burns being made Poet Laureate Limited Edition print of Brother Robert Burns being made Poet Laureate in Lodge Canongate Kilwinning (Edinburgh) on 1st March 1787.Taken from the oil on canvas which hangs in the Grand Lodge of Scotland Museum this 'ceremony' probably never took place. It is considered by many to be a retrostective tribute to the Bard. It remains a most interesting picture with many interesting individuals show therein.
The print is on quality art paper has been treated to suggest a canvas finish.Limited to 1000 copies (of which now less than 200 remain) the print was issued to celebrate the life of Brother Burns on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his death in 1996. Each is signed by Lord Burton who was then Grand Master Mason.
It comes complete with a 'key' naming each individual in the picture.Image size: 26 x 16 inches (66 x 41 mm) with a substantial border. Supplied in a strong tube.
