HQM is the new voluntary scheme for homes developed in response to the phasing out of the code for sustainable homes. MMA provided input to the summer 2015 consultation acknowledging the credits in the scheme for robust, long lasting and low maintenance external finishes. MMA challenged the absence of any consideration of fire.  MMA argue that a home purchaser should reasonably expect a new asset to have some protection from fire and not simply be able to exit safely leaving the asset to burn.  This should be a component of a quality mark.
