Acoustic Details

Building regulation Part E stipulate minimum acoustic performance for airborne and impact noise between adjacent dwellings.  The robustdetails ® scheme is the alternative to pre-completion sound testing for satisfying Part E of the Building Regulations. Using the scheme avoids the uncertainties of pre-completion sound testing. It applies to new adjoined properties.

The majority of separating wall build-ups currently in robust details scheme are masonry. Click Here to find out more.

For the build-up of these walls and guidance for detailing junctions with separating floors see the Robust Details handbook free to download.
