June 2016

ANGOLA JULY 4TH PARADE

Last year there were over 70 Masons and Eastern Star members (and family members) who participated.
THEY WANT TO REPEAT THIS PATRIOTIC AND PUBLIC RELATIONS EVENT AGAIN.

Angola Blue Lodge, Angola York Rite, and the Pokagon Shrine Club have already discussed being in the parade.
WE INVITE OTHERS TO JOIN US - EVEN THOSE OUT OF STEUBEN COUNTY.

There will be food and drinks following at Angola Lodge. Give us an indication so we know you are coming.

Staging takes place at Trine at 10:00 AM.  Parade starts at 11:00 AM.

A MASONIC MEMBER - FATHER - (GRANDFATHER ALSO POSSIBLE) - FAMILY RECOGNITION

I repeat a news item from last month: A new Masonic pin is called the "Lewis Jewel." The jewel is for fathers and sons who are both Masons. The criteria is explained in a handout available to you from your Secretary It is a medal that can be worn to Masonic events and must be ordered from the Grand Lodge - with the recipient(s) paying for the cost. The cost is $20, with bars that list the names of the family members (each bar costs $5.00). A bar can be used to go back as many generations as your family were Masons (father to son relationship). For example if your grandfather and father were Masons, you can have a separate bar prepared with the names of each family member (as long as they were in good standing in case they are now deceased). Come to the next Lodge meeting to inquire.
