The health & safety of the workforce has always been of key focus in the construction and concrete industry and British Precast is committed in supporting members to gain the knowledge and confidence to effectively manage health & safety matters.

The British Precast Health and Safety Committee is active in promoting best practice and improvement throughout the industry.
All members of British Precast are committed to reducing harm and have signed the Health & Safety Charter.
The Safer by Competence scheme initiative champions the principal that all employees and contractors in the sector should move to be provably competent in their roles within a defined timeframe.
British Precast holds two Safety & Health Awareness Days (SHADs) annually for our members. SHADs are proved to be an effective means of sharing good practice through both practical demonstrations and formal presentations.
The Safeprecast app has been developed with guidance from a working group drawn from the industry and builds on the already successful ‘Safequarry’ and ‘Safer by’ suite of services developed by the Mineral Products Association (MPA).
British Precast work closely with the Building Products Delivery Working Group (BPDWG), whose aim is to aid in the development of good practice for loading, transporting and unloading goods for the building products supply industry.
A briefing on lifting operations has been issued. This Briefing arises due to a lifting chain for a pack grab lifter snapping at a plant. Preventative action and key learning points are noted
