Andrew Slinn,

Having spent several years developing and improving the global supply chains of UK based manufacturing businesses Andrew moved into the Public Sector Procurement Arena heading the Logistics and Procurement function at one of the UKs leading Hospital Foundation Trusts. He was instrumental in the development of a Just-in-Time at point of need availability model for the majority of consumables (including Pharmaceuticals) in use throughout the Trust and all of its facilities from a 1,200 bed Major Trauma Centre to smaller satellite clinics and surgeries.
More recently Andrew has taken up the Challenge of Procurement Lead (Route Wide Logistics) at HS2 Ltd, with responsibility for the strategic sourcing of all of the Logistics and Route Wide Strategies ensuring that the very high ethical and environmental standards of HS2 are maintained, whilst complying with the strict Public Procurement Regulations.

Marta advises and represents clients under investigation or subject to a variety of enforcement action brought by enforcing authorities such as the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency and other authorities with enforcement powers.

Jeremy Wedge,

Jeremy has a broad depth of experience in the construction sector having spent 30 years as a consultant before moving into the Connection business. He Heads up the technical team of J&P Building systems and is directly involved with product development within the parent Companies of Pfeifer, Jordahl and H-Bau.
Jeremy’s Consultancy experience places him well within the Technical department to understand customer needs and provide robust technical solutions.

Andy Price,
Strategic Health and Safety Manager |Silica and Moulding Sands Association
Andy is a chartered engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the industrial minerals sector in the fields of occupational health and safety, environment and quality. Respirable crystalline silica has been one of his specialist topics since the early part of his career, when he worked as an industrial hygienist taking exposure measurements. Nowadays, as Strategic Health and Safety Manager for Sibelco Europe, he represents the industry at Board level on a variety of UK and European industry trade associations and works on a number of technical committees. He is the current President of the Silica and Moulding Sands Association, which is the silica sand product group of MPA.

Ian Smart,
HM Inspector of Health and Safety |HSE
Ian Smart currently works for the HSE Engagement & Policy Directorate as part of its manufacturing sector. He is responsible for industries that produce building products and other non-metallic mineral products. This includes industries such as brick, ceramics, concrete, glass and stone. His work in respect of these industries includes liaison with trade bodies, overseeing HSE guidance and informing the frontline work of HSE. He is secretariat for the CHARGE industry advisory committee which is a tripartite forum for these industries.
Previously Ian spent over ten years as front line HSE inspector dealing with manufacturing, agriculture and construction. He had a particular interest in management of health and safety in small businesses advising & training HSE colleagues and LA regulators.
