Gary W. Arseneau was a Valentine to Rudolph and Ella Arseneau, born February 14, 1950. Gary lived most of his youth in Southington,  graduating from Southington High School in 1968.

He attended Connecticut School of Electronics in New Haven, was elected class president, and graduated at the top of his class in 1971. That same year, he married high school sweetheart Christine Martino.  The couple settled in Southington and Gary started his career in electronics. In 1980 the adopted a baby girl, Elise, and Gary and Christine were active in Southington Southern Little League and Boy Scouts.

 

In 1975, Gary began night school, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1986. Since 1996, Gary has been employed at Greenwald Industries as engineering manager.

He has also been very involved in Grace United Methodist Church, serving as an usher, choir member, chairs of the finance committee, Mission citrus sales, and church council, as well as an adult advisor for the Jr. Youth Fellowship.

 

Brother Gary was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on September 17, 1989 in Friendship Lodge No. 33, and since that time has been Master in 1996, earning the Master’s achievement award, secretary, president of Trowel Club, chairman of the Apple Harvest committee, and on both the Rainbow and DeMolay advisory boards.  He has held various other offices including Worthy Patron of Frederica Chapter No. 110, OES, is a member of Westwood Court No. 5 of Amaranth, a 32

 

 

° Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Waterbury, and Valley of Bridgeport, Knight Templar in St. Elmo’s Commandery No. 9, and Sphinx Shrine Temple, then a member of the Shrine Cycle Unit.

Gary served as District Deputy of District 5B in 1999 and 2000, and served on or chaired the committees for Welfare of Lodges, Legal Matters, Masonic Education, and Hospitality. He was appointed Grand Junior Steward in 2004 and passed through the line of Grand offices to become Grand Master in March 2012.
