Andy was Chair of the Steering Committee to return banking services to Union Road Surrey Hills. That committee merged with another in Canterbury and together they formed Canterbury Surrey Hills Community Finance Ltd and opened two Community Bank Branches. One is Union Road Surrey Hills and the other in Mailing Road Canterbury. Later the Company opened two more branches at Ashburton and then Balwyn. Lodge Devotion and the Collingwood Masonic Centre both bank with the Surrey Hills Branch. Andy was a foundation Director and also served as Company Secretary. The company has now (June 2015) returned over $2.7 million dollars to the community via Sponsorships and Grants, an achievement Andy contributed significantly to through his Directorship.
